Soccer Pro Academy provides an elite training and development program that services both the novice and experienced soccer player. All our coaches are qualified Football Federation of Australia (FFA) approved coaches, First Aiders and have undertaken Working with Children Checks.
Soccer Pro Joe Spiteri realised that most academy coaches don’t have the experience to pass on exactly what it takes to be a Soccer Pro as they have never achieved this themselves or if so a very long time ago. This is why Soccer Pro Academy was born. Most of our coaches have played at the highest level either within Australia or Abroad, some both, and not long ago, so they are able to pass on the benefits of teaching from experience. Also most of our coaches are still actively playing at high levels.
Joe has over 30 years experience as a professional player and coach both at home and abroad. He has played at the highest level possible both for the Socceroos and Olyroos representing his country against such teams as Argentina, Chile, Japan, the Netherlands, France, and Spain to name a few and also at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He has been a Soccer Pro overseas in Austria, Belgium and Sweden and has played in such European competitions as the Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Cup, and the Champions League scoring many a goal as a striker for his various clubs. Within Australia he played at the highest level in the old NSL winning back to back championships for the Melbourne Knights along side striking partner Mark Viduka.
Joe has coached and developed players his entire career both home and abroad. He has coached in Europe at schools and at a variety of clubs. He still plays at Point Cook Jets Soccer Club where he was awarded the State league 4 Top Goal scorer and Best Player. Joe coaches and oversees all SPA’s venues and passes on to every player his great wealth of soccer playing experience to help them achieve their goals. View CV →
Alex began playing soccer at a late age of 9 years old. However it didn’t take him long to excel representing his state at every level from U13’s onwards and representing Australia at the U17’s World Cup. His talent was seen by European club powerhouse Club Brugge of Belgium where he began his overseas professional career at the age of only 17. While in Europe he also played for Rita Berlaar in Belgium and Oldham Athletic in England. Back in Australia Alex went on to have a long professional career in the old NSL playing over 200 games for clubs such as South Melbourne, Heidelberg and the Melbourne Knights. While being a Soccer Pro Alex played along side such great players as Zvonomir Boban, Peter Beardsley, Daniel Amokachi, Franky Van Der Elst and Bian Roy, just to name a few. Alex still plays today in the Vic premier league for the Melbourne Knights at the age of 35. While playing at home and abroad Alex began coaching many junior teams for his respective clubs, which has lead him to the Soccer Pro Academy to team up with past team mate Joe Spiteri and continue his passion of developing and helping players become Soccer Pros.
